UJ tops SA rankings in 2026 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject

The University of Johannesburg has topped South African rankings in Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Sciences, and Business and Economics in the 2026 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject.
The university also claimed second place nationally in Education Studies, Law, Social Sciences and Psychology.
Globally, UJ improved in seven of the 11 subjects assessed, moving up in Computer Science and Social Sciences and placing in the 126–150 band for Education Studies and Law.

Stationery donated to Soweto learners

Miss Royal Elegance ambassador Reitumetse Pelo donated stationery packs to the Soweto Kliptown Youth Centre for learners in grades 5-12.
The packs included pens, pencils, rulers, highlighters, crayons, and scissors to support homework and school projects.
The youth centre runs after-school programmes to help learners complete their assignments.
SKY secretary Tshepang Mpshe says the donation is important for children from homes relying on social grants.

Every weekend Director Sharon Rambujan and her partner Naeem prepare and deliver food across the city.
Last month, the foundation fed around 200 people, focusing on children, the elderly, and households facing food insecurity.
The initiative also provides consistent support and dignity to those most affected by hunger.
