Charity golf day to raise funds for local organisations

Easterns Nomads, a charitable golf club, will host the Andrew Mentis Charity Golf Day at Benoni Lake Golf Club on 19 September to raise funds for Little Eden Society, the SOWLE Centre, Apricot Tree and Brainy Birds.
The four organisations provide care and support for people with disabilities, children with special educational needs and rescued parrots.
Nomads Golf Club members have raised more than R50 million for community projects across South Africa over the years through similar fundraising initiatives.

Mandela Month literacy drive transforms ECD centres

Ten Early Childhood Development centres across South Africa have been transformed into reading friendly spaces through the Mandela Month Literacy Legacy Initiative.
The Hollywood Foundation has donated 1 500 books, educational toys and take home learning packs to help young children develop a love for reading from an early age.
The resources will remain at the centres to support literacy and learning beyond Mandela Month
. The initiative will also identify centres that need infrastructure upgrades to create safer learning environments.

Young performers from Simunye Global Organisation recently took to the stage at Art @ the Manor, showcasing their talent through dance and creative performances.
The opportunity was made possible through support from the Fourways Main Reef Rotary Club, which partnered with the organisation.
