South African football giant Kaizer Chiefs F.C. has officially launched its first ever ladies team, a milestone development for women’s football in the country.
The historic unveiling took place on Tuesday in Daveyton, Gauteng, with the new Kaizer Chiefs Ladies set to compete in the Gauteng Sasol League this season.
Chiefs took over the status of an existing Women’s club to form the team, signalling a long anticipated commitment to developing pathways for female players and expanding opportunities at elite level.
Home matches will be played at both Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena and KwaThema Stadium in Springs.

Powell, a leopard attack survivor, has used open water swimming to heal and wanted to create an opportunity for someone else to grow and shine.

Alberton High School learners are collecting plastic bottle caps to raise money for wheelchairs. The caps are sold to recycling companies, and the funds are used to provide mobility aids for people in need.
A giant metal heart has has been placed outside the school’s front office to make it easy for learners to drop off caps, turning everyday recycling into a meaningful contribution.
With support from Tilvis Engineering, the initiative is growing and inspiring students to work together for their community.
