The Fellowship Full Gospel Church in Ferndale has launched a community initiative to collect, buy and donate sanitary pads to underprivileged girls.

The initiative aims to collect one thousand packets of sanitary pads to support schoolgirls across Johannesburg.
The organisation’s leader Chrissy Chaplin says more than 250 packets were donated to primary schools in Zandspruit last year.

The campaign is now hoping to expand its reach to schools in areas including Cosmo City, Kya Sands and Ferndale.

The Run for Rangers initiative has raised more than 549-thousand-rand to support conservation and anti-poaching efforts in KwaZulu-Natal.
This year’s event attracted its biggest field to date, with 22 runners, including participants from the United States and China.

The proceeds will go towards equipment and training for rangers, strengthening the fight against wildlife crime and establish new facilities for a K9 anti-poaching unit.
Project Rhino association says the funds will provide practical support to rangers who are working on the frontline to protect rhinos and other wildlife.

The non-profit organisation Inyathelo honoured exeptional woman leaders, activists, and social workers who form the backbone of the of the country’s civil society.

South Africa’s NPO sector, which comprises nearly 300-thousand registered non-profits and women make up an estimated 65-percent to 70-percent of the NPO workforce.
