Ninety Nine Year Old Sets World Record As Oldest Female Wing Walker
Teaser / Tailpiece story
Helga Duffy from England has become the world’s oldest female wing walker at the age of 99, just three months after another woman, Betty Bromage, set the record at 97.
Duffy was strapped to the top of a small aircraft and spent more than five minutes in the air at Rendcomb Airfield in Gloucestershire, despite concerns about her arthritis and an injured knee.
Her daring flight also raised more than 1,600 pounds for a regional air ambulance charity, while her achievement earned official recognition from Guinness World Records.
