Environmental organisations urge protection of coastal livelihoods

Environmental organisations have urged G20 delegates attending the Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group Ministerial Meeting in Cape Town to oppose oil and gas drilling, protect oceans, and safeguard coastal livelihoods.
The meeting that ended on Friday gathered delegates to discuss 6-key areas: biodiversity, land degradation, chemicals, climate change, air quality, and oceans.

City of Joburg secures grant for the Alternative Waste Treatment Technology Project

The City of Johannesburg has signed a landmark agreement with Invest International Public Programmes, securing about R548 million grant for the Alternative Waste Treatment Technology Project.
The project will improve waste management by reducing landfill use and increasing recycling and renewable energy.
The grant will also support job creation, gender inclusion, and local innovation.
