Tshwane clinics set new standard for primary healthcare
Story 1
All 25 primary healthcare clinics assessed in the Tshwane Metro have earned Platinum status in the national Ideal Clinic Programme.
This places every facility above the required 80 percent mark and signals a major step forward for public healthcare in the city.
The metro’s top performers include Doornpoort, Laudium, Karenpark, Eldoraigne and Nellmapius. Even the lowest scoring clinic remained within the Platinum range.
City health officials say the results reflect strong leadership, committed staff and consistent improvement efforts.
The metro plans to build on this progress through service expansion, infrastructure upgrades and continued patient focused care.

Gog Survives 30-Metre Fall on Shetland Cliffs, Scotland
Story 3
A two-year-old Collie named Whisp survived a 30-metre fall down the cliffs of the Northmavine peninsula in Shetland, Scotland.
The dog landed partway down a rocky ledge, making it unsafe for its owner to reach him.
The Coastguard began a rescue around 11 a.m., but the steep cliff face made access from the sea impossible. Rescue teams spent three hours using ropes and technical equipment to bring Whisp safely back to the top. By 2 p.m., the dog was reunited with his owner.
Coastguard officials confirmed that Whisp was returned safe and well, remarkably unscathed, and appeared happy to be back with his owner.
The rescue provided a tense start to the day but ended on a positive note for the family.
