Young women at Lethabong School of Specialisation in Soshanguve have received mentorship and practical support through the Faculty of ICT’s Help a Girl Child Apply initiative.
The programme helped learners apply for university courses linked to information and communication technology careers.
Student leaders and mentors also hosted workshops focused on confidence building, career guidance and personal development.
The initiative aims to increase access to higher education and encourage more young women to enter the technology sector.

Cyclists raise R300K on charity ride

Cyclists with the Envestpro Changing Lives Foundation have raised more than R300,000 during a five-day ride from Johannesburg to Durban.
The group travelled more than 700 kilometres to raise funds for medical care, education and animal welfare causes.
Riders collected donations for people including a stroke survivor, a patient in intensive care and a woman needing eye surgery.
The foundation also hosts fundraising events and auctions throughout the year to support people and organisations in need.
