Story 1
The Cradle of Hope will host its annual fundraising golf day at Ruimsig Country Club on the 30th of July, bringing together businesses, golfers and community supporters to raise funds for vulnerable residents.
Organisers say the event will help support the organisation’s feeding schemes, food security projects, skills development programmes and outreach initiatives, which currently assist more than 2 000 people daily. The golf day will also include networking opportunities, entertainment and fundraising activities, including a R100 000 hole in one competition.

20,000 Oysters Released to Restore Historic English Reef
Teaser / Tailpiece story

Thousands of volunteers have helped release 20,000 oysters into Chichester Harbour in Portsmouth as part of a major effort to restore historic oyster reefs in English waters.
The project brought together around 260 people for what organisers describe as the UK’s largest subtidal oyster reef restoration initiative. The native oysters were once abundant in the Solent, supporting local food supply and coastal livelihoods for centuries before populations collapsed.
Led by the Blue Marine Foundation and partners, the initiative aims to rebuild marine biodiversity, improve water quality and reconnect communities with the region’s maritime heritage.
