President Cyril Ramaphosa has congratulated the medical team who separated conjoined twins at Mankweng Hospital near Polokwane in Limpopo.
The identical twins, born on 28 January, were joined at the abdomen and shared a liver and other vital organs.
The delicate seven-hour operation was led by professor Nyaweleni Tshifularo.

Cape Town-based estopini, founded by Yamkela Pityoi and Ntutuko Ncanisa, won the competition and received R100,000 in seed funding for its delivery service working with township taxi drivers.
The event is part of a programme that provides young people with skills and opportunities to grow their businesses.
