New minibus boosts transport support for young patients in Cape Town

The Footprints 4 Sam Trust has launched a new “Super Sam Hero” minibus in Cape Town to help transport vulnerable children to essential medical appointments.
The initiative, based at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, provides free transport for young patients and caregivers who struggle to access healthcare facilities.
Since 2018, the programme has covered hundreds of thousands of kilometres and assisted more than 16,000 patients and caregivers across the Western Cape.
The new vehicle replaces an older bus and is expected to strengthen the organisation’s ability to continue supporting families in need of reliable transport to hospital care.
