Johannesburg to Host Major International Day of Yoga Celebration

The Consulate General of India in Johannesburg will host the 12th International Day of Yoga at the Randburg Cricket Club on 20 June 2026, bringing together participants from across Gauteng for one of Africa’s largest yoga gatherings.
This year’s theme, “Yoga for Wellness, Wisdom and World Peace,” highlights the practice as a holistic approach to physical health, mental balance and social harmony.
The event will feature a large group yoga session led by experienced instructors and will be open to the public and inclusive of all ages and backgrounds.
Organisers say the celebration continues to strengthen cultural ties and promote wellness within communities.

Friend Carries Paraplegic Best Mate Up Cape Point Steps

A powerful display of friendship has been captured at Cape Point, where Lachie Bennett carried his paraplegic best friend Fletcher Crowley up all 260 steps to reach the summit viewpoint.
Fletcher, who was left unable to walk after a spinal injury, is travelling the world with Lachie in a project they call Two Mates 1 Chair, which has taken them across Africa, Europe, Brazil and Asia.
During their South African journey, the pair have explored landmarks including Signal Hill, Boulders Beach and the Garden Route, with Lachie often carrying Fletcher where wheelchair access ends
. Their Cape Point climb has been widely shared online, drawing praise for their bond and determination.
