South African doctor Kirthi Ramdhani has become the first person in Africa to qualify as both a paediatric surgeon and a plastic and reconstructive surgeon.Dr Ramdhani can provide specialised care for babies, children and teenagers with facial conditions, birth differences, severe burns and other complex medical needs. Having a surgeon qualified in both paediatric and reconstructive surgery allows children with complex conditions to benefit from a more integrated approach to treatment. The Smile Foundation, where Dr Ramdhani serves on the surgical team, celebrated the historic achievement.

Nearly 90 cats of different breeds took centre stage at the World Cup-themed All Breeds Championship Cat Show held at the Jeppe Quondam Sports Club in Bedfordview.Hosted by the National Cat Society, the event brought together breeders, owners and cat lovers from across the country to celebrate their feline companions. Cats were judged in various categories, with awards presented to top performers, while exhibitors embraced the FIFA World Cup theme by decorating their cages in colourful football-inspired displays. A special prize was also awarded for the best-decorated cage, adding to the festive atmosphere.
