Windsor East pool cleaned up through community partnership

Ward 98 councillor Beverley Jacobs joined forces with the Beagle Watch environmental team to restore the Windsor East swimming pool, which had been overrun by weeds and grass.

South African author wins international writing contest

South African author Dorothy de Kok has won the prestigious L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest.
Her story will be published in the international anthology, Writers of the Future Volume 42, and she will travel to Hollywood for a week-long masterclass and the awards event on 16 April 2026.
Dorothy began writing at the age of twelve and has drawn on her experience as a teacher, editor, and community worker to inspire her fiction.
Her winning story, Thickly, explores the pressures women face to transform themselves in order to be seen.
The Writers of the Future Contest is now in its 43rd year and has helped launch the careers of many aspiring writers and illustrators worldwide.
