DiG Foundation eyes new opportunities as LIV Golf comes to SA
Story 3
The DiG Foundation is nurturing young township golfers and sees the arrival of LIV Golf South Africa as a chance to open more doors for its players.
Founder Songezo “Songz” Sonamzi says the foundation teaches golf alongside life skills to underprivileged youth, while building facilities where children can learn the sport for free.
Originally based in Soweto and now operating from Kyalami, DiG aims to introduce more youngsters to golf and guide them into competitive play.
Organisers say next year’s global LIV Golf event in South Africa could raise the sport’s profile and expand opportunities for players from disadvantaged communities.
