The People of Joburg NPC will host a Community Wellness Day at Sinqobile Clinic in Soweto on February 26 to promote cancer awareness, survivor support.
The event will bring patients, survivors, families, healthcare professionals and local leaders together for free cancer screenings, nutrition and wellness demonstrations, survivor talks and prevention workshops.
The initiative, is part of a pilot project providing practical support and resources to local communities.

SGUBU's revolution hits Diepsloot

SKUBU is changing how South Africans buy essentials with its fully automated refill stores offering products at reduced prices to support low-income communities in Diepsloot.
The stores allow customers to buy exactly what they need, reduce waste and manage household budgets.
According to the GoodThingsGuy, the store sells staples like maize meal at extremely low prices, selling at R9-per kg, compared to around R20 elsewhere, which is a 55% saving.
SKUBU currently operates two stores in Diepsloot, with plans to expand to more than 30 locations across Southern Africa over the next two years.

SANDI to offer free entry to its national botanical gardens in March

The South African National Biodiversity Institute is offering free entry to most of its national botanical gardens in March, allowing South Africans to explore 11 botanical gardens and 2 zoos across the country.
Visitors can join guided walks, shop for plants, participate in wellness activities, and take part in hands-on conservation education.
Last year, over 126,000 people visited during the free-entry week, and this year’s programme encourages engagement with ecological conservation.
Gardens included in the initiative range from Kirstenbosch and Walter Sisulu to the Lowveld and Thohoyandou National Botanical Gardens.
