Youth activist and Jozi Youth Empire founder Mapula Mojela has taken her anti bullying campaign to Grade 3 learners at Saxonwold Primary School in Johannesburg.
Mojela spoke to the learners about the effects of bullying, mental health and how they can respond when someone is being bullied.
The session encouraged learners to think about their actions and the importance of treating one another with respect.

Mpumalanga farmers get boost to grow their businesses

Emerging farmers in Mpumalanga are getting support to expand their agricultural businesses through the Eggsellent by Lebo project in Kwaggafontein.
The project, owned by young farmer Lebo Mashigo, is set to have two layer houses with capacity for 30 000 chickens and has already created jobs.
Lebo says she received a lot of help along the way.
Mpumalanga MEC of Agriculture Khetiwe Moeketsi has urged farmers to take advantage of opportunities offered by the department.

Westdene community rallies to keep elderly residents warm

A community campaign in Westdene, Johannesburg, is working to provide winter essentials to 90 elderly residents at Eeufees Old Age Village.
Friends of Eeufees is collecting blankets, warm clothing, toiletries and non perishable food to create a warm pack for every resident.
The campaign has already received support from local residents, volunteers and businesses, with organisers encouraging more people to contribute.

New partnership to grow South Africa’s young cricketers

Cricket South Africa has joined forces with education group AdvTech in a three year partnership aimed at expanding opportunities for young cricketers.
AdvTech will sponsor CSA’s Youth Weeks, supporting competitions for boys and girls from Under 13 to Under 19 level.
The education group will also introduce specialised girls’ cricket programmes at selected schools, helping young female players progress towards elite cricket.
The partnership will also connect cricket development with education, giving young players opportunities to grow both on and off the field.
