South Africans Bake Cupcakes for Cancer

Thousands of South Africans will bake and sell cupcakes on 26 September to raise funds for children with cancer and their families.
Cupcakes of Hope supports families with transport, accommodation, meals and other treatment-related costs, with more than 2,400 volunteers raising over R2 million last year.
The campaign will run at more than 80 shopping centres, as well as in schools, workplaces and communities across South Africa.
Volunteers can register as Cupcake Angels and bake 24 cupcakes to help fund support for children undergoing cancer treatment.

Young musicians from the Soweto Theatre Youth Orchestra will honour African women in music through their annual Chapters of Her concert this August.
The performance at Soweto Theatre will feature music, spoken word and storytelling celebrating pioneers including Miriam Makeba, Sophie Mgcina and Dorothy Masuka.
Jazz pianist Thandi Ntuli and conductor Chevonne Plaatjies will mentor the young performers as they prepare for the show.
The concert forms part of Women’s Month and gives emerging musicians a platform to develop their skills.
