The Presidency Invites South Africans To Give Nomination For National Order

South Africans have been called to nominate outstanding citizens and eminent foreign nationals for the national orders.
National Orders are South Africa's highest honours, awarded by the President to citizens and distinguished foreign nationals.
These highest awards recognise exceptional contributions in areas such as democracy, human rights, arts, science, business, and acts of bravery.
Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says nominations for the order close on 31 August.

Cape Town To Host World Mountain and Trail Running Championships

The World Mountain and Trail Running Championships will be held in Cape Town in 2027, marking the first time the event will be held in Africa.
The Mother City was awarded the championships after a successful joint bid by Golazo South Africa, Athletics South Africa and Western Province Athletics.
Table Mountain will provide a visual backdrop for the championships, which will take place from October 6 to 10, 2027.
About 1,200 runners from more than 80 nations are expected to compete in the championship races in 2027, while more than 2,000 runners will take to the start line for the mass participation events.
