Eskom & BYD team up to boost SA's electric vehicle drive

Eskom and BYD Auto South Africa are joining forces to support the country's efforts to reduce carbon emissions from transport and make South Africa a hub for electric vehicles.
The 2 have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, to drive electric vehicle adoption and support cleaner mobility.
The move follows the launch of the BYD Dolphin Surf, a compact, affordable all-electric vehicle.
Eskom’s spokesperson, Daphne Mokwena, says future discussions may also consider renewable-powered ultra-fast charging hubs, and recycling and repurposing used EV batteries for energy storage:
