PRASA launches new student residence in Braamfontein

The Passenger Rail Association of South Africa has opened a new student residence in Braamfontein, in Johannesburg.

The 12-storey building will provide safe and affordable housing to students from nearby universities and TVET colleges.

The building currently houses over 500 students and will reach full capacity of 700 National Student Financial Aid Scheme-approved students by January 2026.

Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital undergoes major refurbishments

The Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Gauteng is undergoing major refurbishments to improve the hospital's laundry services.

The project involves replacing old equipment with five new 100 kg capacity tunnel washers and dryers to increase processing capacity and to improve patient care.
The Hospital's CEO Nthabiseng Makgana, says the upgrades aim to improve operational efficiency.
The refurbishments will be rolled out in phases.

SA Tourism records 30% Increase in International arrivals

The Minister of Tourism Patricia De Lille has welcomed the increase in international tourists in the country.

The Department recorded a 30 percent year on year increase in tourist arrivals in August this year, with over 6 million tourists visiting the country since the beginning of the year.

The majority of the tourists are from countries including Europe, Central and South America and the Middle East.

Delta Airlines to Increase flights from Atlanta to Cape Town

Western Cape Premier Alan Winde has confirmed that Delta Airlines will be increasing its flights from Atlanta in the United States to Cape Town.
Winde recently returned from a ten-day trip to the US aimed at improving trade relations, investment, tourism and jobs in the province.

The premier says more than 160,000 tourists visited the Western Cape from the United States in 2024.
