The City of Tshwane and its partners will host market days this month to support local entrepreneurs and smallholder farmers.
City spokesperson Sarah Mabotsa says events include the Tshwane Entrepreneurs and Farmers Market Day at Church Square, an Entrepreneurship and Flea Market at Solomon Mahlangu Square, and an Entrepreneurs Expo in Hammanskraal.
Mabotsa says the initiatives provide training, seminars, and market access opportunities while promoting locally produced products, agro-processing, and small businesses to boost jobs and economic growth:

Dr Londiwe Sibisi-Maboye 1st African to receive international Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Award

Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital is celebrating a historic win as Dr Londiwe Sibisi-Maboye becomes the first African to receive the international Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Award.
The honour, presented at the IAPD Congress in Cape Town, recognises her groundbreaking Saving Smiles in Africa programme, which has provided 41 free dental surgeries, over 3,000 screenings and 4,000 oral-health education sessions to underserved children.
Dr Sibisi-Maboye also leads the Kids Dental Home Foundation and lectures part-time at SMU and the University of Pretoria, inspiring the next generation of dental professionals.

R23 million allocated by NW Department of Agriculture

The North West Department of Agriculture has allocated R23 million to support grain farmers in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District as the planting season begins.
The funding will assist 50 farmers working across 2,700 hectares as part of the government’s crop massification programme.
This initiative aims to revitalise fallow land in communal areas and strengthen food production.
MEC Madoda Sambatha says the cooperative receiving aid is an example of successful land reform, noting that it has remained stable despite challenges seen elsewhere:
