South Africa will host the G20 Social Summit in Ekurhuleni on Gauteng's East Rand this week.
The gathering will include youth, women, labour, civil society and faith-based groups.
It will be co-convened by minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni and former deputy president Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.

Applications for the 2025 Création Africa Initiative aimed at empowering cultural entrepreneurs in South Africa, Lesotho, and Malawi, are now open.
The initiative - supported by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the French Embassy, and IFAS - offers mentorship, incubation, training, funding, and networking.
It targets entrepreneurs ready to scale their creative businesses across sectors like film, fashion, music, design, and gaming.
50-participants will be selected for intensive mentorship from February to March 2026, followed by incubation and international immersion phases.

Team Rwanda head coach David Louvet has unveiled a 23-member squad for the 2025 CAC Road Cycling African Championships, set to be held in Kenya from tomorrow until Sunday.
The team will depart for Nairobi today and will compete across the Under-23, Junior and Elite categories in both the men’s and women’s divisions.
According to the schedule, only the women’s elite riders will be in action on Saturday, tackling a 107.6km course.
The final day of competition, on Sunday, will see the men’s junior cyclists take on the same distance, while the elite men will close the championships with a gruelling 163.8km race to decide the continental titles.
