Oosthuizen and Team Prioritising Enjoyment at LIV Golf Debut
Story 3
Louis Oosthuizen and his Southern Guards GC teammates Charl Schwartzel, Branden Grace and Dean Burmester say they are prioritising enjoyment and hosting duties as LIV Golf makes its South African debut this weekend at The Club at Steyn City in Johannesburg.
Playing on home soil, the team is attracting strong local interest, but Oosthuizen says the focus is on celebrating the tournament rather than feeling pressure to win.
With extra off-course responsibilities as hosts, the players are ensuring fans and participants experience South Africa’s golfing venues while still competing at their best.

Record road trip duo drives three-wheeler from UK to Cape Town
Teaser / Tailpiece story
Two adventurous men have completed a 16,000-kilometre journey from the UK to South Africa in a notoriously wobbly three-wheeled car, breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest trip in a Reliant Robin. Oliver Jenks from Devon and Seth from Canada started in England in October 2025, crossing Europe and over 20 African countries before reaching Cape Town in March 2026.
Their car, affectionately named Sheila, survived deserts, jungles, engine failures, and 42°C heat, aided by a GoFundMe campaign that raised nearly six times the original goal.
The trip raised over £8,300 (R159,431) for School in a Bag, a UK charity providing backpacks and learning materials to children in need. Sheila will now be retired to a Cape Town museum, while Oliver and Seth hint at future adventures.
