The Masechaba Foundation has launched a campaign to provide 120 pairs of school shoes to underprivileged learners at Princess Primary School in Weltevreden Park.
The school will identify the children most in need, while a local manufacturer will produce the shoes at a cost of R49 a pair.
The foundation is appealing for financial donations from individuals, businesses and community members to reach its target.
Organisers say the initiative is also aimed at building a long-term partnership to support vulnerable learners.
