Youth Day Donations Raise R2.7 Million for Burn Survivors
Story 1
A Youth Day fundraiser has sparked national generosity, with South Africans donating R2.7 million to help young burn survivors.
The campaign, supported by Jacaranda FM and its listeners, aimed to replace a vital laser machine at the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital in Johannesburg.
Not only was the R1.4 million target met, but enough was raised to secure a second machine at a discounted price.
These devices will help treat up to 40 children each month, easing pain and improving recovery.
The response shows the power of community when it matters most.
