Known affectionately as “King Tha,” Mazwai’s soulful and spiritual performance aired in April 2024 and was later named one of the “10 Best Tiny Desk Concerts of 2024.”
Filmed in Washington, D.C., the set featured her beloved hits like “Nizalwa Ngobani?” and “Ingoma.”
The news comes just ahead of her much-anticipated show at The Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg on Sunday, June 29, where she’ll perform with a jazz quartet.
Mazwai says the concert is a special gift to loyal supporters, especially as Sankofa celebrates its one-year anniversary.
