Joburg Water Gets Smart to Save Every Drop
Story 1
Johannesburg Water is using smart technology to save water and improve supply across the city.
The utility is installing advanced smart pressure controllers on 28 large reservoirs, towers, and high-use pipelines.
These controllers help reduce water pressure, which means fewer pipe bursts, less leaking, and more water saved.
Senior Manager Logan Mun-samy says this move is key to making Johannesburg more sustainable and ensuring a steady water supply for everyone.
The project forms part of the city's broader water conservation and demand management programme, showing how smart solutions can protect vital resources for the future.
