Cebekhulu-Msomi, founder of Hazile Group, received the Bold Future Award for her pioneering work in sustainable agriculture and clean energy in rural communities.
Phaahla, founder of Setšong Tea Crafters, won the Bold Woman Award for revitalising indigenous tea culture while empowering women in Limpopo.
Both women were celebrated for their blend of innovation, heritage, and social impact, showing how bold, purpose-driven businesses can create a brighter future.

Two South African scientists have been jointly awarded the R2.5-million Harry Oppenheimer Fellowship Award for pioneering research with global impact.

Gauteng’s Mandela Day Surgery Drive Restores Dignity

To mark Nelson Mandela Day, the Gauteng Health Department is performing over 1 000 free surgeries across public hospitals. 
The surgical marathon is a joint effort with private partners and focuses on procedures like cataract removal, cleft palate repair and prostate treatment.
  MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko is visiting facilities to ensure smooth delivery and reopen upgraded units. 
A new Treatment Time Guarantee is also being introduced to reduce backlogs.  It’s a hopeful step toward restoring dignity and improving lives across the province.
