Ward 94 residents gathered in impressive numbers for a public meeting hosted by Councillor David Foley at the Lonehill Fire Station on the 5th of July.

The meeting served as a platform for meaningful engagement between the community and key service delivery stakeholders, marking a continuation of the councillor’s proactive initiative to foster transparency, accountability and improved communication.

Representatives from City Power, the Johannesburg Roads Agency, and Eskom were present, offering in-depth presentations and updates, followed by a robust question-and-answer session.

SAPS Training Programme attracts over 900,000 applicants

The SAPS has received over 900 000 applications for its Basic Police Development Learning Programme.

The Police Service reported that it received over 67 000 applications within 24 hours of launching its first ever electronic recruitment system, with the aim to fill 5,500 police trainee positions across the country.

South Africans between the ages of 18 and 35-years-old were invited to apply to be admitted to the training programme, with the application deadline set for today, July the 18th.
