Township Golf Development Hopes to Ride LIV Golf Momentum
Story 2
The DiG Foundation is developing young township golfers and hopes the arrival of LIV Golf South Africa will help expand opportunities for its players.
Founded by Songezo “Songz” Sonamzi, the foundation teaches golf and life skills to underprivileged youth and works to build facilities where children can learn the sport for free.
Originally based in Soweto and now operating from Kyalami, DiG aims to introduce more youngsters to golf and provide pathways into competitive play and personal growth.
Organisers say the global LIV Golf circuit coming to South Africa next year could raise the profile of the sport locally and create more visibility and opportunities for young players from disadvantaged communities.
