Throwback cinema gets full week

Ster-Kinekor’s Throwback Cinema campaign has expanded from once-off screenings to full-week runs after strong demand from moviegoers.
Since launching in 2023 with R50 tickets for older films, attendance has increased, rising 526% in 2024 and a further 86% in 2025.
The cinema group has confirmed the campaign will continue into 2026, with releases scheduled through May.
Participating cinemas include Rosebank Nouveau and Cresta in Johannesburg, Ster-Kinekor Brooklyn in Pretoria, Watercrest Mall in Durban and V& A Waterfront in Cape Town.

Fish Hoek community for cancer patient

The Fish Hoek community in Cape Town has raised R11,000 for 10-year-old Zack, who is undergoing cancer treatment, through the Big Walk for Little Warriors held on Saturday.
Over 200 people took part in the walk while volunteers and sponsors provided jumping castles, refreshments and on-site medical support.
The Fish Hoek Lions Club and Reach For A Dream Foundation teamed up to fulfill Zack’s Dream Day, of having fun and taking a break from his hospital treatment and medical appointments.
Other local organisations, contributed resources to make the day possible.

The Agricultural Business Chamber of South Africa says higher production volumes and strong global demand helped the country’s agricultural sector reach $15.1 billion in exports in 2025.
Farmers and exporters maintained 7-consecutive years of growth despite trade disputes and reduced shipments to the US.
