Learners support children in need through Santa Shoebox campaign
Story 1
Learners, parents and staff from Ruimsig Montessori International School and Cottage Montessori School have collected more than 100 Santa Shoeboxes for children in need.
The campaign saw learners take an active role in selecting essential items and packing and decorating the shoeboxes.
The donations will be handed over through the Santa Shoebox Project, with the schools hoping to make the initiative an annual tradition.

Southern African leaders have gathered in Durban for the 46th SADC Summit, with regional development and improving the lives of people across Southern Africa high on the agenda.
The summit focused on industrialisation, infrastructure, agriculture, critical minerals and strengthening trade between SADC countries.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has now taken over the SADC chairship, saying South Africa will work with member states to turn these priorities into practical improvements for people across the region

Women at Fleurhof safe haven receive a day of encouragement

Women at the Elizabeth Walk Safe Haven in Fleurhof were treated to a special Women’s Day celebration aimed at reminding them of their value and giving them a chance to feel appreciated.
The Serve to Grow Foundation hosted the gathering, which included dancing, an empowerment talk, gifts, lunch and dessert.
The safe haven supports women recovering from addiction and dealing with trauma and hardship, offering counselling, life skills and spiritual guidance.
Local businesses also contributed, with Spur Westgate providing meals, desserts and shopping bags for the women.
