Women at Fleurhof safe haven receive a day of encouragement

Women at the Elizabeth Walk Safe Haven in Fleurhof were treated to a special Women’s Day celebration aimed at reminding them of their value and giving them a chance to feel appreciated.
The Serve to Grow Foundation hosted the gathering, which included dancing, an empowerment talk, gifts, lunch and dessert.
The safe haven supports women recovering from addiction and dealing with trauma and hardship, offering counselling, life skills and spiritual guidance.
Local businesses also contributed, with Spur Westgate providing meals, desserts and shopping bags for the women.

Betty’s Bay community rallies to save rare dolphin

More than 80 people in Betty’s Bay in the Western Cape have come together to rescue a rare Risso’s dolphin stranded on Silversands Beach.
The dolphin was found struggling to breathe as the tide moved further out, prompting residents to quickly organise a rescue effort.
Volunteers dug a trench towards the sea and used a tarp and straps to carefully carry the animal into deeper water.
Several people stayed with the dolphin until it was strong enough to swim away on its own, while one volunteer remained in the water for about half an hour to guide it through the waves.

Young African designers are getting another chance to turn their creativity into real career opportunities through the PUBG MOBILE Rising Designer programme.
The second season is offering two paid internships at leading design studios across Africa, giving successful applicants hands on industry experience and the chance to work on PUBG MOBILE projects.
The programme also gives designers the opportunity to have their work featured in the game, bringing African creativity to a global audience.
Applications are now open at pubgmobile.com to design students until 1 September.
