Rosebank Mall has officially unveiled its cutting-edge smart energy infrastructure.
The new smart infrastructure features a 7.2MW power battery, a 4.5MW invertor and a dual fuel generator.
The mall's general manager Muhammed Varachia states that the mall's new smart energy infrastructure allows tenants to operate uninterrupted during power outages and help reduce strain on the national grid during peak hours.
At the same time UT Energy's Wally Weber says the project is a financially sound energy solution, not just an environmental initiative.

Pikitup Working To Protect The Environment

Pikitup is working to protect the environment by diverting recyclable materials, especially electronic waste, from landfill sites.
As part of the waste management company's Separation at Source programme it is training its cooperatives to extract valuable materials from discarded electronics like TVs, radios, and computers.
Pikitup's Managing Director, Bukelwa Njingolo says unlike general waste e-waste requires special knowledge and skills to safely dismantle and recover valuable materials like gold, copper, and silver.
Njingolo emphasizes that responsible waste management is a collective responsibility that will assist in reaching the goal of a cleaner and greener Joburg.

Katlehong and Daveyton to Host Business Growth Training

A digital transformation and financial education training program for local micro-enterprises will be held in Katlehong on August 26 and in Daveyton on September 23.
The sessions organised by Visa in partnership with the Township Entrepreneurs Agency, will offer practical skills on the implementation of secure digital payment methods, the adoption of simple digital tools for stock and customer management, as well as how to use social media for business growth.
The programme targets both CIPC-registered small and micro-enterprises and informal traders.

National Parks Week Kicks Off With Celebration At Kruger National Park

South African National Parks will offer free entry to most of its 21 parks during national parks week from 22 to 26 September, with some open until 28 September.
The week kicks off with a celebration at the Kruger National Park’s Mopani Rest Camp, in Limpopo, on 21 September.
SANParks spokesperson JP Louw says the initiative promotes pride in South Africa’s natural and cultural heritage and raises awareness about conservation:
