President Cyril Ramaphosa will lead South Africa’s high-level delegation participation to the Tokyo International Conference on African Development in Japan.
The 9th Summit will convene from 20–22 August 2025 under the theme “People, Planet, and Prosperity in a Changing World.”
Launched by Japan in 1993, the Tokyo International Conference on African Development co-hosted with the UN, UNDP, World Bank, and African Union Commission has become a premier forum for African development.

Pikitup Working To Protect The Environment

Pikitup is working to protect the environment by diverting recyclable materials, especially electronic waste, from landfill sites.
As part of the waste management company's Separation at Source programme it is training its cooperatives to extract valuable materials from discarded electronics like TVs, radios, and computers.
Pikitup's Managing Director, Bukelwa Njingolo says unlike general waste e-waste requires special knowledge and skills to safely dismantle and recover valuable materials like gold, copper, and silver.
Njingolo emphasizes that responsible waste management is a collective responsibility that will assist in reaching the goal of a cleaner and greener Joburg.

Création Africa To Support Cultural Entrepreneurs in SA, Lesotho & Malawi

Création Africa is set to support cultural entrepreneurs in South Africa, Lesotho, and Malawi again this year.
The initiative is inviting applications from incubators or consortiums to train and mentor participants through a year-long programme.
50-entrepreneurs will be selected in November, with coaching in early 2026 and incubation for 15-finalists from April to October.
The project, led by the French Embassy and the French Institute of South Africa, aims to grow creative industries and promote sustainable business opportunities in the region.
