Youth 20 Summit Kicks Off Today

The Youth 20 Summit kicks off today in Johannesburg.
Known as Y20 its the official youth engagement group of the G20 which brings together young leaders across the globe, to debate and propose solutions on issues such as climate change, digital transformation, social inclusion and education.
This year South Africa hosts the gathering under the theme Youth building bridges uniting solidarity championing equality and driving sustainability.
Y20 SA Chairperson, Raymond Matlala says this is a significant moment for the group:

10 New World-Class Buses To Joburg’s Rea Vaya BRT System

Litsamaiso CEO Nelson Rikhotso has announced the addition of 10 new world-class buses to Johannesburg’s Rea Vaya BRT system, with 143 more planned by June 2026.
These buses are designed to run for at least seven years.
Litsamaiso is also launching a skills development programme for young women, training them for roles across the transport sector—from drivers and technicians to HR and finance.
Rikhotso says they hope to uplifting women across every part of the business.

Students and graduates from the South African School of Motion picure AFDA have won five prestigious awards at the 2025 Simon Mabhunu Sabela Awards.
The annual Film and Television Awards, hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission, celebrate creative excellence across KZN’s film and television sectors.
Launched in 2013, the ceremony highlights regional talent in categories spanning acting, production, cinematography and cultural storytelling.
These awards reinforce Afda’s significant role in building the next generation of storytellers and industry leaders.

Création Africa To Support Cultural Entrepreneurs in SA, Lesotho & Malawi

Création Africa is set to support cultural entrepreneurs in South Africa, Lesotho, and Malawi again this year.
The initiative is inviting applications from incubators or consortiums to train and mentor participants through a year-long programme.
50-entrepreneurs will be selected in November, with coaching in early 2026 and incubation for 15-finalists from April to October.
The project, led by the French Embassy and the French Institute of South Africa, aims to grow creative industries and promote sustainable business opportunities in the region.
