Over 50 youth from Kagiso and surrounding areas attended a work-readiness workshop designed to strengthen their competitiveness in the job market.

The session focused on practical skills including CV writing, interview techniques and digital job searching to help participants navigate a competitive labour market.

Organisers say the initiative goes beyond motivation, equipping participants with the tools and access needed to consistently pursue opportunities.

The Executive head of Economic Inclusion and Sustainability at Property Point, Clement Makotanyane, says participants were recruited through a community activation kiosk at Kagiso Mall.
He adds that the facility helps reduce the cost of job searching by providing access to infrastructure, computers and internet connectivity.

Mduzana, who grew up in the small town of Cala, recently obtained his doctorate in health sciences rehabilitation from Stellenbosch University, where his research introduces the country’s first standardised clinical guidelines for lower-limb prosthetics, replacing reliance on international frameworks with solutions tailored to local healthcare realities.

Mduzana hopes his achievement encourages transformation and advanced training within his field.
He says restoring patient mobility remains the most rewarding part of his work.

Arthur Jantjies wins 2026 Two Oceans Ultra Marathon

Arthur Jantjies achieved a stunning victory at the 2026 Totalsports Two Oceans Ultra Marathon in Cape Town.

The 24-year-old from Hopetown in the Northern Cape completed the race in 3:09:25.

Jantjies, who is coached by one of South Africa’s most celebrated mentors, John Hamlett, beat 2024 winner Onalenna Khonkobe, to claim the success in the 56km race.

The victory is considered a major breakthrough, with Jantjies stating he was struggling to believe his achievement immediately after the race.

The athlete credited his coach, for a carefully executed race plan.
