Tourism in eThekwini is showing signs of growth, with international visitor numbers rising by 22.4% in July.
Around 28,000 international visitors spent an estimated R83.1 million, while domestic tourists contributed more than R830 million to the local economy.
South African Tourism says sustained growth could see eThekwini generate close to R1 billion in international tourism revenue by the end of the year.
Retailers, restaurants and food businesses were among those benefiting most from visitor spending in July.
