Hennops Revival and its partners have removed 175 bags of rubbish from wetlands flowing into the Weetmanspruit in Centurion.
The cleanup collected nearly two tonnes of waste, helping protect the waterway and the wider Hennops River system.
Community members, including staff from Woodlands College, also joined the effort.

Solar-Powered Ambulance Brings Healthcare To Remote Communities In Kenya

Stella Juva, described as the world’s first solar-powered ambulance, is being tested in Kenya to improve access to healthcare in remote areas.
Developed by 23 students from Solar Team Eindhoven in the Netherlands, the vehicle can travel more than 700 kilometres on a single day of sunshine.
It is equipped to provide services including blood tests, disease screening and vaccinations, while being designed to handle rough roads.
The ambulance has reportedly generated more energy than it consumes during testing in Kenya.

Hamba Bamba Funda has received a donation of wool to support crocheting skills development among mothers in Kliptown, Soweto.
The women have completed five workshops and are learning to make handmade items that they can sell to generate income for their families.
The group will hold a Market Day on the 11th of October to sell their creations, with one workshop still remaining before the event.
The latest wool donation was sent from Cape Town by Hashtag Nonprofit, giving the women more materials to continue developing their skills.
