Richard E Grant Champions Secondhand Fashion
Teaser / Tailpiece story
Actor Richard E Grant is fronting Oxfam’s Second Hand September campaign, encouraging people to buy pre loved clothes, donate unwanted items and keep clothing in use for longer.
Grant says a secondhand Burberry trench coat he bought from Oxfam helped him land his breakthrough role in Withnail & I in 1986.
Oxfam research finds almost a third of clothing in the average UK wardrobe was not worn in the past year.
The charity says the water used to produce Britain’s unworn clothes could provide a lifetime supply for one million people.
