Story 3
The green turtle is making a strong comeback after decades of decline.
The species has been reclassified from endangered to least concern on the IUCN Red List.
Global numbers have grown by almost 30 percent since the 1970s. Conservation measures such as protecting nesting beaches and reducing entanglement in fishing nets have played a key role.
Experts say the recovery is proof that marine conservation is working.
While some regional populations still face threats, the green turtle’s rebound is being celebrated as a major win for ocean wildlife.
