Tshwane partners with NGO to launch school holiday programme

The City of Tshwane partnered with Tateni and Thandanani, an NGO based in Mamelodi, to support the implementation of their school holiday activities programme.
This included promoting chess skills and robotics.
Mayoral committee member for Community and Social Development Services Department, Palesa Modise, says about 80 learners participated in the programme, which also included a tour of Mamelodi and the inner city:

Curro hosts e-sports local area network

More than 550-learners from Curro schools across the country came together last week for the national e-sports local area network, hosted at Curro Aurora in Randburg.
The 4-day event brought together the best young gamers to compete face to face in some of the world’s most popular titles.
Games featured during the tournament included Minecraft, Overwatch 2, Apex Legends and Rocket League.
The event gave learners, who usually train and compete online, a chance to meet their opponents in person and experience the excitement of live competition.

The Betway Cares Foundation has unveiled Voices of Her, a groundbreaking national mentorship and vocal talent development programme aimed at empowering young female artists across South Africa.
The 12-week initiative is designed to support women between the age of 20 to 35 from disadvantaged communities, providing them with training in vocal skills, songwriting, branding, and music business management.
Applications are now open nationwide, with 12 talented finalists set to be announced on October 24.
