Tembisa scholar driver Walter Mphuthi has been recognised as one of the top achievers in the Discovery Safe Journeys to School programme.
This programme, run by Discovery in partnership with Afrika Tikkun, rewards drivers who transport children safely, follow road rules, and care for their passengers.
Mphuthi was honoured in Sandton for consistent safe driving and strong performance across several award quarters.
He transports children from Tembisa to Bonaero Park and is known for making their journeys enjoyable.
To mark his achievement, he plans a special outing for the children before schools close.
Mphuthi received R9 000 in award winnings, which he plans to reinvest in his vehicle to continue offering safe transport
