The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health reports significant progress in HIV treatment outcomes.
Three districts, uMkhanyakude, Harry Gwala, and Zululand, are leading the province in meeting the 95-95-95 targets.
The first 95 target, diagnosing people living with HIV, is at 98 percent provincially, exceeding expectations.
The second target, ensuring patients start treatment, stands at 87 percent, while viral load suppression has improved from 80 percent to 83 percent.
Quarter two’s campaign shows 14,532 new patients initiated on treatment and 29,471 successfully returned to care.
Health officials note gaps remain among children and men and are calling for community support to improve disclosure and adherence.
