Singapore's Changi Airport breaks ground on its fifth terminal
Story 3
Singapore's Changi Airport has broken ground on its fifth terminal, which is expected to be operational by the mid-2030s.

The new terminal will almost double the size of Changi Airport's existing area, which sits on 1,080 hectares of land.

This will allow the airport to handle 140 million passengers per year from its current capacity of 90 million passengers.

Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong says the decision to build Terminal 5 was due to the rising trajectory on travel over the longer term.
