A group of women from Yakult, known as “Yakult Ladies,” are making a difference in seniors’ lives by delivering probiotic drinks and checking in on their health and wellbeing. Their smart uniforms and signature sashes mark them as trusted visitors in Japan.
Visiting 30 to 50 homes a week, they often become the only familiar faces seniors see regularly.
One senior said their weekly visits give her strength even on days she feels unwell. The initiative has expanded worldwide, with 50,000 Yakult Ladies now active in countries including Brazil, Mexico, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
