Joburg Tourism has won a Silver Certificate at the International Tourism Film Festival Africa 2026 for its “Welcome2Joburg” destination film.
The film was selected as a finalist from 438 entries submitted from 47 countries and highlights Johannesburg’s tourism, culture and business offering.
The award was presented at the festival in recognition of the film’s role in promoting the city as a travel destination.

Blanket Drive Jozi returns for sixth winter outreach

Blanket Drive Jozi has launched its sixth annual winter outreach campaign to support vulnerable communities during the cold season.
The initiative began with a donation drive at Hotel Hope in Melville last week, where 70 blankets, 70 cases of canned food and other essential items were handed over.
Founder Beven Naidu says the campaign started as a small effort among friends and family with a goal of donating just 50 blankets.
The initiative has since grown significantly and aims to distribute 850 blankets this year, reflecting increasing community support.

Western Cape Launches Construction Skills Learnership Programme

Aquarium Foundation gets recognition at International Tourism Film Festival Africa

The Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation has won Gold and Silver awards at the 2026 International Tourism Film Festival Africa for two conservation documentaries.
Wild Waterfront won Gold for documenting marine wildlife management at the V&A Waterfront, while Raggies: A Shark Release received Silver.
Both films were produced by the Foundation's Ocean Campus Studios team in the Western Cape.
The documentaries highlight marine conservation and the work of people protecting South Africa's ocean wildlife.
