Spark Cresta recently donated essential hygiene and skincare items to Abraham Kriel Bambanani, a Johannesburg-based non-profit supporting vulnerable children and youth.
The donation included toiletries, sanitary pads, and personal care products, reflecting Spark Schools’ commitment to kindness and community support.
One of the children at the home was a former Spark Cresta learner who had to leave due to financial challenges.
Abraham Kriel Bambanani runs 13 sites offering shelter, education, and care to traumatised children across the city.
Spark Cresta also encourages parent involvement through volunteer hours, which help boost learner performance.
To encourage giving, learners received tickets for every item donated, making the drive fun and engaging.

When he was recently diagnosed with both renal and rectal cancer, and discovered his insurance had lapsed, the community he had long cared for stepped up. A GoFundMe campaign raised over $280,000 from more than 3,400 supporters to help cover his treatment.
His dedication was also recognised in Congress, where Maryland Representative Kweisi Mfume officially honoured his service in the Congressional Record.
Dr. Z’s insurance has since been restored, and he continues to see patients—now with even more people arriving at his clinic, drawn by his lifelong commitment to care.

A passionate group of local residents is working to revive the Killarney Library, tucked away in the basement of Killarney Mall in Johannesurg.
Known as the Friends of the Killarney Library, the group has grown to 70 members committed to transforming the space into a vibrant community hub.
They’ve launched an awareness campaign that has already increased visitor numbers.
To raise funds for improvements and community events, they are hosting a book sale on July 4 and 5, with over 800 books donated so far.
The group envisions the library as a welcoming space for book clubs, children’s story times, and other activities that bring people together.
Their efforts are helping to restore the library as a vibrant and welcoming space for everyone in the community.
