Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital in Roodepoort, Johannesburg, has launched a comprehensive Trauma Programme to provide faster, specialist emergency care for patients with serious injuries.
The programme includes two new trauma surgeons and a partnership with ROCKET Emergency Medical Services and Air Rescue South Africa, enabling critically injured patients to be transported more quickly for lifesaving treatment.
The initiative strengthens the hospital's emergency response system by ensuring patients receive coordinated specialist care from the scene of an accident through to surgery.

Free surgery offers new smiles for children with cleft conditions

Operation Smile South Africa is inviting children and adults with cleft lips and cleft palates to register for free surgery and specialised treatment at Rob Ferreira Hospital in Mbombela from 24 to 27 July.
Volunteer healthcare professionals will provide life changing operations, speech therapy, dental care and follow up support. The programme, run with the Mpumalanga Department of Health, aims to improve patients' quality of life and restore their confidence.

ExED learners support Brakpan SPCA

Learners from ExED Private School have donated funds and volunteered their time at the Brakpan SPCA after raising money through their ExED On the Go project.
The learners used proceeds from selling warm drinks and treats to buy donations for the animal welfare organisation before helping to clean kennels and spend time with the animals.
The school thanked parents, sponsors, teachers and learners for supporting the initiative, which gave the SPCA much needed assistance.
